PackIt freezable coolers are the coolest on the market — literally! It’s the only bag that creates cold – like a mini refrigerator. The entire bag freezes to keep food and drinks cold for up to 10 hours– no ice pack needed. There’s freezable gel actually built into the lining of the bag. The bags fold up super small so you can store your PackIt overnight in the freezer. Pull it out and the walls are completely frozen. The bag won’t just insulate, it will actually create cold and chill room-temperature items in about an hour.
The PackIt social cooler ($30) is perfect for families – and the personal cooler ($20) is terrific for individual adventures.
My son has used the PackiT freezable lunch bag the whole school year. He had one he used for a few months last year as well. He was complaining that his regular lunch box wasn’t keeping his sandwiches cold. He didn’t like the soggy and warm ham and cheese sandwiches. I can’t blame him. I don’t like my food that warm either, unless it’s supposed to be.
The PackiT lunch bags are perfect for school lunches. You just put it in the freezer the night before (they fold up and velcro so they don’t take up much space) and it’s ready to go in the morning. It does feel stiff and frozen when you use it, because it is! It creates a cooler, not by insulating but by having all the sides act as ice packs. It stays cold for over 8 hours. I make his lunch and put it in the PackiT at 6am. When he eats at noon, it’s still cold. He says when he gets a snack out later, it’s still cold inside the bag!
The bag itself zips close and then has velcro fold over cover to keep it extra covered and so that the carry handle is exposed. It is small enough to fit into backpacks but big enough to hold snacks and lunch and a drink for your middle-schooler. One of the best things is that it’s reusable! In fact, we work hard to make sure we use stainless steel containers, water bottles and other containers so we don’t put plastic baggies inside his lunch box. We are working hard to reduce our carbon footprint, one lunch at a time.
We also received the PackiT Social Cooler but we haven’t gone anywhere to use it yet. It will be perfect in the summer for those trips to the beach or on a hike. We love to keep our water and drinks cool so this will be perfect. It will easily hold 6 drinks and keep them cold over 8 to 10 hours.
I bet you know someone on your Christmas list that could use a PackiT cooler! I highly recommend the Packit coolers for school aged kids, or anyone that brings their lunch to work with them. Check out PackiT on our Christmas gift guide along with lots of other great items!
