We started out by trying number eight, Roasted Squash and Wild Rice Soup. It was easy and reminded me of a fantastic garlic and cheese dip. The Soup was so deicious that I thought it would make a fantastic bread bowl meal the next day…
I am not even going to lie and tell you that my first attempt at serving soup in a bread bowl was a success – it was not! My leftover Roasted Squash and Wild Rice Soup was cold, my bread was burned, and my cheese was barely melted. But I learned, I learned what not to do! (facepalm)
Four Tips for Bread Bowl Success:
- Your soup should be hot before you put it in your bowl;
- Cheese toppings should be put on immediately after pouring soup;
- Avoid placing your soup bowl in the oven;
- Bread does NOT go in the oven after soup is inside!
