I know that it’s like pulling teeth to get my son to help clean sometimes. But, when can you get your kids to help clean the car?
Just this past spring, major news sources were reporting that our cars were making us sick due to the lack of regular sanitation methods being taken by automobile owners. Let this be another great reminder that your automobile needs to be cleaned weekly to help combat illness. Make routine cleaning a speedy family affair by assigning a few age appropriate chores to your entire family.
Ages 4-7: Your youngest children can help gather trash and goodies from between, under, and around your seats. Be sure to check under car seats too!
Age 8-12: Children age eight and above, who are already using other cleaning supplies under adult supervision, can wipe down surface areas using disinfecting cleaning wipes. Make sure they pay special attention areas in which hands rest most frequently. Door handles, steering column, arm rests, seat-belt snaps, window and lock controls, are just a few places that will need special attention.
