I am always looking for fun ways to celebrate the arrival of our new additions to the family; something that will help me remember each pregnancy and delivery in a unique way. For baby Jaxon, I am currently playing with a monogram maker at DesignMantic. I have never monogrammed baby items/gifts for any of our previous wee ones, so this is pretty exciting to me! The DesignMantic monogram designer is a free online service that was initially created for Wedding Monograms, but can be used to monogram almost any occasion.
How to Turn a Wedding Monogram into a Baby Monogram
I was fairly confused when I first began, because I couldn’t figure out how to remove the “&” inside of my monogram. Instead of [bride & groom], I added our newborn’s [First & Middle] name. The “&” was automatically inserted in the design.
After selecting your design is the “Customize Your Wedding Monogram” section. This is where you can simply remove the “&” out of the monogram and do all sorts of fun customization! Take a look:
As you can tell, the entire process was very simple. They provide step-by-step instructions, easy to understand boxes for quick changes, and several layout examples to choose from. Once you select a layout, the color options can be changed to whatever you desire – sizing too!
When you are finished, you can purchase t-shirts or event invitations or download the monogram file for your use later. Your file will arrive via PDF, JPEG and PNG file formats for download! (Send the file over to your local embroidery company and add it to whatever you wish! – diaper bags, baby blankets, make shower gifts for your guests… the possibilities are endless!)
The hardest part for me was selecting which monogram layout I wanted to use. Because the program was initially created for Wedding Monograms, not everything they offer will suit your needs for a baby monogram. I had to flip through several pages before I found something that would work for us. Fortunately, there are twenty-four pages to choose from! (Those who are having a girl – will have a blast looking through all of the options!)
I still haven’t perfected my monogram yet. I think I will wait until he arrives before I complete my design, so we can place his birth date inside too. I had a lot of fun creating our first Monogram for him with DesignMantic. I can’t wait to make many more creations to choose from. I’ll be here designing with DesignMantic for the next few days.
