One of My Favorite High-Protein breakfast ideas:
My son is starting Sixth Grade next week and we are trying to find some quick, easy and high-protein breakfast ideas. Now that he is in Sixth Grade, there will be no snack time to hold them over for lunchtime. So, we are experimenting with easy and high-protein foods. Today we had yogurt (average 6 grams of protein) and organic granola (average 5 grams of protein for 1/2 cup). 11 grams of protein for an easy breakfast is amazing. Just pour granola into a bowl, add a cup of yogurt and stir. Most kids can even make this breakfast by themselves!
Try different kinds, flavors and brands of yogurt to find the one your child likes the best. Same with the granola. Many companies make a variety of granola with added nuts, raisins and more that add extra protein to their product.
Justin gave this breakfast 2 thumbs up.
We used Cherry Activia Greek Yogurt (Fruit on the bottom) and Cascadian Farms Organic Oats and Honey Granola.
Happy Back to School!
