I wasn’t sure how much we would use our Diaper Dude diaper bag when it arrived. I mean, when would my husband need a diaper bag and me not have one available? I’m always with our children, when would he even use it? Since its arrival I have learned that there are several reasons to supply Daddy with a diaper bag of his own and for the first time in fourteen years of parenting, I’m learning to let Daddy help more.
We use our Diaper Dude the most when we are out on day trips, traveling, hiking, and enjoying tourist locations. We can quickly grab our small umbrella stroller for our daughter and daddy can toss on his Diaper Dude. This leaves me hands free! I can enjoy taking pictures or holding the hand of my preschooler instead of having to worry about the diaper bag dragging me down. Since the Diaper Dude is a crossover style bag he too is able to enjoy our trips with the kids without feeling bogged down by my “mommy” diaper bag. Honestly, the more we use my husband’s Diaper Dude the less often I want to carry my own. Being a #HandsFreeMom is amazing.
The essentials. Daddy’s Diaper Dude carries all of our essentials. The three front pockets contain our toddler’s Epi Pen, Sunscreen, and our quick supplies and/or water bottle. The large zippers and clasps make them easy to access while my husband is still wearing the bag. Even the kids can grab what they need from Daddy with little effort.
The main interior of the bag houses the baby’s diapers and is where we store our electronic tablets on the go. This portion of the diaper bag also has a large zipper and clasp but does require more movement/force to open so it is the perfect place for storing personal items in with the diaper stash for ultimate protection.
There are two, near the body, outside pockets that can be used for holding important papers, maps, or anything flat that you may need to be easily accessible. I don’t recommend using this pocket for tablets as it isn’t zippered and I do worry about them falling out when bending over, etc.
The final exterior pocket is on the side. It is a great place for water bottles or baby bottles. The gathered elastic top allows or them to remain inside the pocket firmly, even while bending over.
The bag itself is designed and made very well. The material is sturdy and can handle anything daddy can get himself into. Wipe it clean, toss in the essentials, keep going and mom will love being #HandsFreeMom!
What does the Daddy think?
“Comfortable to wear. Light. The padding is perfect. I did have one zipper clasp fall off without my knowledge. I have received several compliments on it from other dads who wished they had it instead of carrying their wife’s bag around. One even commented on how unfair it was that he didn’t have one. I’m thankful that it isn’t pink flowers but I do have my heart set on the Camouflage bag next time!”
