My son sums it all up: “It’s so cool!” That it is! As a life long LEGO lover, he has built with thousands of pieces in his 11 years. We have never owned a book like this. It has amazing pictures of LEGO models that can be found around the world. AND, it has illustrations with instructions to build some of these “Wonders.” My son figured out that if you don’t have certain pieces, you can buy them on the LEGO shop online.
It also has Step-by-Step instructions for more than 60 projects.
AND it has 2 pull-out posters of the iconic wonders in LEGO.
They even have a Stonehenge LEGO model. It’s one of my favorites. It would take days to build. We started off doing Mini Sphinx, but got sidetracked and kind of irritated when the dogs knocked it over. So… we will start again tomorrow when the big dogs have gone home.
Building with LEGOS is a rite of passage through childhood that should not be passed over. LEGOS are great for hand-eye coordination, following instructions and even teamwork when you build with a friend or sibling. The instructions for the projects are all visual representations, so no reading is required. Although, in this book, Brick Wonders, there is so much more to see and do than just build with LEGOS. It’s a great book full of history and modern wonders of the world. You can learn about the Egyptian pyramids and a few chapters over, you can learn about the International Space Station and build an iPad out of LEGOS.
