My little one has so much excitement bottled up over going to Build-a-Bear Workshop; it’s eight years in the making!
My youngest daughter has been so excited about our upcoming trip to Build-a-Bear Workshop that it has almost become a daily discussion! She spends much of her “free” time plundering the online store trying to decide which one she will pick when we finally make it there. I believe she has changed her mind five times already!
Last week was our first attempt at taking her to the Workshop. Our dear friend told us our local mall had a Build-a-Bear Workshop in it. Everyone piled into our truck and we excitedly drove across town, entered the building, found the directory…. no Build-a-Bear Workshop.
My oldest son frantically searched online and discovered that the closest one was almost an hour away, and actually, there are about three within an hour away from us in all directions. We went home with the hopes of heading to the biggest store we could find the following day and… thunderstorms. We marked the calendar for two days later and… two babies are running fevers! My poor little eight year-old is going to start to think we are never going to make it!
Delivery! Delivery!
Thankfully, an amazing package arrived with an adorably dressed Huge Hearted Lion inside! This little guy is super cute and even cuter than his clothes is his hair! We LOVE his hair! It can be brushed back, flipped up, or fanned out – whichever the mood of the child who is currently holding him.
According to my toddlers, the best part about our Build-a-Bear Workshop Delivery was the box he came in! They can color it or stuff it with a lively tiny animal…. errr…. our kitten. (Shockingly, the little guy [cat] seem to enjoy himself in it for quite a while and didn’t consider it abuse. It was more like a great hideout from the kids.)
The Lion of Love
Why does our “Lion of Love” make us love him so much? Because he feels amazing! Everything about him is soft, his fur, his mane, he is hugably plush. If we could summarize him into one word it would be “soft”.
What makes him different from a plush lion I can get from almost anywhere? Again, I think that goes back to softness. You would have to feel for yourself in order to understand. My friend purchased a bear from an imitation store and you can immediately feel the difference in quality in the fibers used. There is no imitating a Build-a-Bear Workshop bear/plush animal. It just isn’t the same.
My oldest daughter is actually the owner of the of our Lion but she has been sweet enough to allow her little sister to borrow him until her time comes to build her own at the Workshop. Fingers crossed that this week is the week!
Bearville
Are you planning a trip to a nearby Build-a-Bear Workshop? Stop by Bearville online and let your little one play! Bearville has be such a lifesaver for me this past week when we have had to postpone our trips to the Workshop. I can’ wait until she can register her own Furry Friend for online play.
