I know you are wondering what Chicken Pox and Cookies have to do with each other and Sunday Inspirations. Well, we had big plans to meet up with family this weekend and have our after Christmas Christmas party. We even had made cookies to bring with us. I had psyched myself up for the 2 hours drive. Then I started wondering why my son’s “bug bites” kept spreading and how there could even be bugs in zero degree weather. I used my trusty iPhone to take a few pictures and sent to my nurse friends. They were 99% sure those itchy bumps were Chicken Pox. Of course, when I called the Doctor’s office, they had just closed. I know there isn’t much they do other than benedryl, calamine lotion and Tylenol for his fever.
Those itchy spots are like those little sins in our lives. Until your feel the sweetness of God’s forgiveness, they will keep itching and bugging you. God has a plan for us for each and every day. My son and I may not have made it up to our family party, but we enjoyed some good snuggle time with our chocolate chip cookies.
When life leaves you feeling itchy, remember that God’s love can soothe your itch and give you cookies instead.
