Be Creative with your Perfume!

October 2, 2013 by Pam Maynard

Perfumes have a long history since the days of the Ancient Egyptians. Mixtures of oils and aromatic substances from plants, trees, flowers, herbs and spices, have been the essence of many pleasing scents. Throughout time, perfumes have been used in a myriad of ways from rituals during religious ceremonies to masking poor hygiene in the presence of royalty. Today, the uses of perfume are only limited by your creativity.

The most common use of perfume is to make your body smell good. There is a bit of science behind this reason. We are naturally attracted to potential mates due to chemicals released from the body called pheromones. These scents are unique to each person and their subtlety may appeal to one but not the other. While perfumes come in a wide range of fragrances, there’s no denying that there’s something to be said for this law of attraction.

Concentrated perfumes are usually too strong to spray on your entire body. If you like to smell good from head to toe, consider spicing up your shampoo, shower gel, or body lotion. Simply add a small amount of perfume to unscented soaps and moisturizers. Or, add some to your bath water. Instantly, you’ve got yourself an all-over body fragrance that won’t overpower the noses of those around you.

A little dab’ll do ya but you don’t have to stop there! Jazz up your clothes in your closet, dresser drawers, and laundry. Add some perfume to cloth fabric hangers in your closet to leave a light scent on your clothes. Place a scented handkerchief or piece of fabric in the dryer when your clothes are half dry. Moisten unneeded business cards, post cards, or other scraps of paper and place under clothes in your drawer. These options are also great for those who may have sensitive skin or want a lighter scent.

There’s no need to buy expensive room and auto air fresheners. Make your own or freshen up old auto air fresheners. Add a few drops of perfume to a light bulb and relax as the aroma lightly fills the room. If you have potpourri that has lost its scent, a little perfume goes a long way. In fact, you can carry your scent across the miles. Before you pop a letter or postcard in the mailbox, spray it with a little perfume to keep the memories alive for that extra special person.

There are so many ways you can take advantage of the aromatherapy qualities of perfumes. You can choose from a large selection of fragrances to match your personality and mood from stores such as Discount Perfumes from FragranceVilla.com. Follow these great tips and make the most of your favorites scents everywhere you go!
