It’s never too early to start thinking about what you’ll wear for Halloween. The entire year and its events plays heavily into inspiring Halloween party-goers’ costume choices. This year, expect to see some of these trendy costumes.
Kim Jong-un

Barring the possibility that North Korea does something so stupid in the upcoming months that Kim Jong-un starts to look more like a warmonger than an international joke, expect to see plenty of people dressed as this diminutive world leader. Those who get really creative will probably try to construct limp nuclear weapons. Who knows where it will go from there…?
Iron Man III
The release of Iron Man III in May keeps Iron Man relevant again this Halloween. This is great for people who already own Iron Man costumes, you are able to re-use them or lend them to a friend. If you had the pleasure of viewing Iron Man III then you saw all the different versions of his armored suits, called Marks. Get a group of friends together and redecorate your old Iron Man costume to represent all the different versions of his Marks. You can even get together and do a couples costume and add the lovely Pepper Potts to the mix.
Robb Stark and Other “Game of Thrones” Characters
Game of Thrones is huge right now, so you’ll see a lot of adults dressed as their favorite characters. Men will most like go for a character like Robb Stark, who’s both charming and masculine. Women will almost certainly choose Daenerys Targaryen by throwing on blond wigs with dresses and varied plus size costumes.
If you need a fun Halloween game, ask those ladies if they know how to spell Daenerys’s name.
Members of One Direction
You probably think that the whole One Direction thing will burn off by November, right? Think again. The group has a movie debuting in late August. That’s just enough time for kids to get fixated on the group again. On the contrary, chances are that you won’t see as many Justin Biebers this year since his split with Selena Gomez.
North West
What does rapper Kayne West plus famous girlfriend Kim Kardashian equal? The answer is North West. Earlier this month these two a-list celebrities welcomed their baby girl into the world with open arms. Giving her the unique name of North, people are going to be quick to dress as this new family. Many people will mock the family for the uncommon name by dressing as a compass pointing in the NW direction. Where others will take the opportunity to find their inner glam and dress to impress, much like the two they are aspiring to be.
Margaret Thatcher
Dressing like famous political leaders will never go out of style. However, which leader people are dressing as will vary from year to year. In light of the recent death of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, she will be a front runner this year. Meryl Streep portrayed her in the 2011 film The Iron Lady. She has a very elegant style that includes fun hats you see many British royalty wear.
Rand Paul for President
Didn’t we just have a fairly definitive election? Yes, but you’ll still find people wearing costumes to support their favorite presidential candidates for 2016. Rand Paul has become a favorite amongst young people who believe the government should stay out of their affairs. This has the potential to be great publicity for Rand Paul. Paul doesn’t have a very distinctive look, though, so expect a lot of name tags.
Have you started thinking about your Halloween plans? Use these ideas as a great way to get ahead of the game, or use it as tool to prevent you from having the same costume as someone else. Happy Halloween.
