Do the Right Thing!

In our home my children and I spent a lot of time together. I homeschool all nine of them so we’re all together all day! Our family motto is to “be a blessing” and that’s often really hard to do! Siblings tease and tear you down, mom insists that chores and schoolwork are done, the food served isn’t our favorite, baby is crying, and sometimes we just don’t feel well. It’s hard to make the right choice. But we look to the Bible as our guide to life, and in it we read
“So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you”. Matthew 7:12
So much easier said than done! The satisfaction of doing the right thing and knowing that God sees our efforts even if our mom or sibling doesn’t seem to care or notice makes it so worth it! We feel peaceful inside and our conscience is clear!
My husband and I decided on the name “DBA jerky” for our jerky business because we thought it made us laugh, but also because it fit in with our family’s motto!! Do you want to know what “DBA” stands for?! “Don’t be a!” Don’t be a jerky! Just a fun way to remember our family goal!
