History
The history of diamonds dates back to nearly 3000 years when it first gained recognition in India. Hard to get a glimpse of, it was not until the beginning of 20th century; De Beers contribution to the diamond industry made it an abundant commodity. It is to be believed that the 1947 ad campaign by De Beers ‘A diamond is forever’, is what equated the gemstone to ‘Love’.
But why do women love diamonds?
As beautiful as it looks, every woman desires to own at least one form of diamond jewellery. It is one of the most unique commodities where culture and materialism as an aspect are overlooked because no matter where you come from you will always admire them.
Made out of the ordinary, carbon, diamonds are one of the most indestructible substances found by mankind. The hard work put in cutting the diamonds is immeasurable as the expertise and meticulousness required is scarce, to transform it into a polished gemstone.
Call it naive, but one of the true reasons behind women’s never-ending love for diamond is its expensiveness. Distinctly, one can buy a car for the same price as a necklace or a bracelet however it’s the package altogether that makes it so extraordinary. The spark, lustre, size, quality and the colour is what makes a woman stand out from the crowd.
The Gift
Diamonds are the extravagant expression of eternal love. Valentine’s Day just passed, but diamonds haven’t lost their lust. Women love getting pampered especially those who grew up being a daddy’s girl.
Every gift has its own meaning, from cards to roses to diamonds. The type of gifts you receive provides an insight into how well he knows and feels about you. Although the monetary value of a gift is not always the most important factor, dating and relationships experts believe that a man who spends money on good quality jewellery is trying to convey something important to the woman in his life.
To add in a little personal touch, a personalised jewellery box from Bags of Love would make it the perfect gift because ‘good things come in small packages’ and with jewellery it definitely is the case.
