So your little one has got a fancy dress party coming up, but you have
no idea about what they can go as…
Well don’t worry at all, as this guide will give you eight top ideas
that your youngster will be sure to love.
1. Pirate
“Ahoy matey!” Why not jump off deck and get your little one kitted out
in the latest pirate gear? There are tons of different accessories you can get
for pirate costumes, such as swords, eye
patches, a bandanna, a hook and even a treasure map. Team all this with a
stripy top and their outfit is sorted!
2. Hippy
Take your little one back to the 60’s by dressing them as a miniature hippy.
Colours such as yellows, browns and greens are a good colour palette to stick
to, as well as flowery patterns. You should also make sure you have a headband,
as well as lots of peace accessories!
3. Clown
Is your child a bit of a joker? Well then they’re sure to love playing
the fool by dressing as a clown. Get them a coloured onesie, teamed with either
a hat or a curly wig and remember to paint their noses red. You could even
purchase them a few jokes accessories such as a watch that squirts water for
the full comic effect.
4. Viking
Why not take your little one back in time with a Viking outfit? You will
need a brown, animal-skin inspired costume to start before you can accessorise.
However, you may want to order this online or pick one up from a local
retailer, as they will probably be quite hard to replicate accurately! Team this
with some open-toed sandals and an axe and you’re almost there – that’s because
you’ll also be needing a traditional Viking-horned hat to complete the look.
5. Army
Why not dress your “little soldier” as… a soldier! Yep, all you need
for this one is some camouflage or khaki wear, teamed with some green and brown
face paint. If you are going for the full look, you may want to purchase a
helmet too, as well as some chunky black boots.
6. Disney Character
There aren’t many kids out there who are not a fan of Disney whilst they
are growing up. So why not bring the magic to life and let them go as their
favourite character to their next planned party? There are tons of different
characters to choose from such as Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, or even as one
of Snow White’s seven dwarfs! Order a specialist costume online, or have a go
at making it yourself if you’re feeling creative.
7. Grecian
Go for a bit of Greek history with your child’s next outfit and dress
them Grecian-style. This doesn’t have to be an expensive costume as you can
just use a bed sheet as a toga, tied up with some gold rope. You may want to
order things such as a gold crown for them to wear too, and even get them
carrying a bunch of grapes!
8. Detective
Is your little one a bit of a “nosey parker”? Well then why not
dress them up as a mini detective! What you will need for this is a big checked
coat, maybe teamed with a matching hat. Be sure to also get them an oversized
spy glass too, maybe teamed with some black-rimmed specs to complete the look.
