You don’t have to splurge on fashion to be “in”
this 2013. Your 2012 wardrobe only needs minimal tweaking for you to be on top
of 2013’s latest fashion trends.
The Difference
between Fashion 2012 and Fashion 2013
An authority in the fashion industry has indicated that the
transition in fashion trends from 2012 to 2013 is likely to happen during the
seasons of spring and summer, some time around March. This means that your fall
and winter collection is still very much in style until the weather calls you out
of your trench coat and sweaters.
So you won’t have to do much of anything to your 2012
wardrobe yet until spring and summer, when these seasons do come, all you need
are little touch-ups on colors, material, and accessories.
What to Overhaul this
2013
While you can still enjoy your chiffon animal print top from
last year and your current favorite vintage frock, your wardrobe will still
need a few changes for you to stay trendy this 2013.
Here is the spring and summer items you’d best invest in for
2013:
1. Silk tops and dresses. Last year it was chiffon. 2013 is
the year of silk. Go for items with muted base colors and edgy, folksy, vintage
prints in vibrant colors.
2. Vintage accessories. The best thing about vintage stuff is
that they are not only casual to semi-formal pieces but they also rarely go out
of style. Vintage clutch bags, for instance, are a must for 2013. Also, chunky
and slim vintage leather belts will be ideal accessories for dresses and
frocks. Be sure to have at least a couple of these pieces.
3. Peplums. Peplums go well with just about any type of
figure. However, they go best for people who want to seem slimmer (in the
waistline) and taller.
Tangerine and turquoise had been the colors of 2012. Any
wardrobes in these colors will still be great for this year, but be sure to add
a few items mentioned above to keep abreast of the latest fashion sense and
style.
2012 Items Worth
Keeping
While most of the pastel craze of 2012 has died away, don’t
be too quick to toss your Ombre Daisy Dukes because they’ll still be
head-turners this year.
Many prints, plaids, and color-blocking trends of 2012 will
spill over to 2013. Also, you’d be glad you got those leather figure-hugging
dresses, skirts, and jeans because they are still in vogue. Your faux fur
pieces would also come in handy especially for autumn and for the rest of the
chilly months of 2013.
Remember that “creativity” is basically what you
need to stay fashionable because fashion is, just as Jessie J’s song goes, not
really “about the money. “
