A baby needs to be provided for in all ways and as a parent, there are many things you tend to forget. Of course, having a baby is a job in itself but you have to be prepared with all the essentials so that your baby always gets what it needs. The main areas to take care of are clothing, feeding and diapering. The following is a list of basic things that every parent must have for their new born –
- Clothing – There are many sizes that are available for your baby’s clothes, like –
- Preemie or clothes for a pre mature baby
- Clothes for a newborn baby
- Clothes for 3 months old baby
- Clothes for 6 months old baby
- Clothes for 9 months old baby
- Clothes for 12 months old baby
There are many babies that don’t need the newborn size because they mature straight to the 3 months size. The best thing to do is to always keep the next size ready because babies grow pretty fast, you can never predict when you’ll need a size.
Always give comfort a priority when you get your baby’s clothes, especially for daily wear. The daily wear clothes should also be durable and a bit roomy so that your baby has space to move.
If you can afford it, you can go for organic clothing made from natural things and without harmful dyes and chemicals. When you choose a detergent to wash the clothes, make sure that it is baby friendly.
- Diapering – A normal baby requires around 10 – 12 diapers in a day and hence, you need to choose your diaper carefully. There are many diapers available in the market and you should choose something that won’t cause a rash. Some people go for cloth diapers, but that has more hassles.
Be prepared with baby wipes as well because you would need them. Some people spread a towel on the floor to change diapers and some invest in a changing table, take your pick.
- Feeding – In the initial stages, when your baby is still breastfeeding, you would require a breast feeding pillow to support your back and neck. Ointments and gel packs to soothe aching nipples might also be needed. Burp cloths are a must to wipe fluids.
If your baby is in the bottle feeding stage, you would need bottles starting with a size of 4 ounce initially and 6 ounce later. Go for glass bottles as they are safer.
When your baby is old enough to eat solids, you would have to buy bowls, spoons, sippy cups and highchairs for your kid. Make sure that these are small and not dangerous. Spoons should have a tip of rubber or be made of plastic to not hurt your child’s mouth and gums.
Other things that you need to buy after the above basic ones are a crib, baby proofing the apartment, baby toys and first aid kits for the babies.
Raising a baby can be tiring, challenging and the expensive products make it no easy on the struggling parents. Of course, no parents would want to buy inferior quality products to save on a few bucks. This is why closeouts of excessive stock from reputed companies come as a relief for these parents who can buy baby products at affordable prices without having to compromise on the quality.
