Look glamorous on your wedding day – with the help of a bra
Choosing the right wedding dress can be an enjoyable if not slightly stressful time. Every layer, ruffle, sequin, bead, diamond, pleat, strap and hem has to be just right – but that’s not all. You also need to find a bra to suit your glamorous outfit, so where should you start if you’re in this situation? Well, that largely depends on the type of gown you choose.
A corseted dress
Whether you’ve had a breast enlargement to enhance your assets or have a modest chest, a corseted frock should complement your curves. They’re easily adjusted and are available in a wide range of shapes and sizes, but you must select the right bra. If the wonderful crisscross effect exposes your back a little, opt for strapless chicken fillet supports. These stick on the front of your breasts and will give you a wonderful shape underneath your dress. If you need a little more uplift, go for a regular strapless bra, but slide a square of material between the dress and the straps to ensure all underwear is covered.
A dress with one strap
Wedding dresses with one strap are often, sleek, elegant and highly sophisticated. They can elongate your neck, flatter your chest and add interest to your overall look, so don’t be put off by their unique style. If you do go for something along these lines, be aware that one side might be slightly lower-cut than another to complement the design. If it is, your best bet would be to choose a skimpy bra that provides enough support but doesn’t have a lot of material – to ensure no lingerie is on show. As always, get measured in every store and know what a well-fitting bra should look like.
A backless gown
Backless gowns can look absolutely stunning, particularly if you have flawless skin and the confidence to pull off such a look. They can be notoriously difficult to wear however, as regular bras just don’t do them justice. Instead, you must look for stick-on garments or tape that will mould your assets into shape without ugly-looking straps. If you have a small bust this might be relatively easy, but if you’re blessed with a bouncy bosom it might be worth steering clear of this design, having a breast reduction would allow you wear the backless dress of your dreams, however there are plenty of dresses with a scooping back that will still allow you to wear a proper bra and these can be more flattering.
Looking for a wedding dress is extremely exciting, but don’t forget to spend a little time picking out the perfect underwear.
