Food is one of the most important part of a human being’s life. There are mainly two types of food: one is vegetables and fruits and the other is animals and birds, the food type is called vegetarian and non-vegetarian respectively. In the ancient times, when our ancestors invented the food and found the stuff to which they could eat, they used to eat it in raw form but by the time passed, humans learned to cook the food using different ingredients. In those old times, things like spices were not available. With the time, they found the spices and along with that, they started experimenting and using them into the process of cooking.

In a dish, usually there are many ingredients put to enhance the taste and the texture of the food. A dish is prepared with many vegetables, meat, fruits, spices; but they have to be added in appropriate amount and at perfect time. They have to be cooked for a perfect amount of time.
There are different types of vegetables available in the market nowadays. A meal always depends on the place where it is being made for it’s ingredients. Ingredients are in different forms: some are in liquid form, some are in powder form and some are in solid form. But the while cooking, the taste of all the ingredients gets mixed with each other and makes a great and unique taste all together. Liquid ingredients are mostly oils, milk, food color, paste, vinegar or any other taste enhancing liquids. In solid form there are many ingredients like vegetables, fruits, beans and many more. Vegetables and fruits can be eaten raw and uncooked as well. These are the ingredients without which most dishes cannot be made. In powder form, there are mostly spices and the most important spices are salt, sugar, chilly powder and many more.
It is not essential that all the types of ingredients has to be there in your kitchen. A perfect chef is the one who can make the best dish out of the ingredients available to him or her. The taste of a dish totally depends on the selection of vegetables, spices and other ingredients. The cooking procedure, timing, method also play a big role in cooking and enhancing its taste.
The vegetables and spices are one of the most important part of the food and they has to be used perfectly in making a dish. Nowadays, cooking is all about art and a bit of science. Science is all about choosing the right ingredient for the particular dish and cooking them together in the perfect style and perfect method. Art is about how you present the food or how you decorate a dish to look better than a simple one. Cooking the food is not only about putting some things together and cooking them on the fire. It requires much more effort with right type of ingredients and right amount of time taken for cooking. So, we can say that the food or cooking is a group of ingredients put inside it.
