“R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour: The Series”
You can expect the unexpected in this eerie new series from R.L. Stine, the master of kid horror. Tune in for a new live-action story every week. And prepare yourself … for the thrill of the chill, nervous giggles, and the SCREAM you let out when someone — or something! — touches your shoulder on a dark and stormy night. Can you handle it?
I was given the opportunity to see if my son Justin and 10 of his friends could handle it! They did and they loved it.
The box of goodies for our “fangtastic” party was huge! It had The Haunting Hour DVD Screener, Grampires T-shirts, Glow in the dark wrist slap bands, bumper stickers, glow in the dark vampire fangs and lots of fun recipes and game ideas.
We played a few games inspired by The Grampires!
Haunted Obstacle Course- 3 teams, Plants, Zombies and Grampires
Each player on a team had to complete the scary course, race back to the beginning and tag the next player. The first team to complete the course win!
My son had set up comes, spider webs, snake traps (with a jump rope) and scary hopscotch. It was very creative and fun to watch.
Trick or Treat/Truth or Dare
Did you love to play Truth or Dare when you were a kid? We added a spin to it by adding Tricks and Treats to the mix. We printed out some fun Tickets (made by my blogger buddy Julie at Emptynester Reviews) and wrote, Truth, Dare, Trick and Treat on them. On the trick tickets, I had a trick written on the back so they had to do that trick or they were out. The Treat tickets were good for a prize from the prize pumpkin. The zombie teeth were a favorite.
You never know what kids are going to come up with. The Truth and Dare tickets were very interesting and funny.

The Movie:
R.L. Stine is the master of kid scares and this series didn’t disappoint! I only watched part of it, but the kids loved the whole thing and begged to watch it again.
R.L. Stine (“Goosebumps”), the master of kids’ spooky storytelling is back for a third season of “R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour: The Series” with all-new tales of suspense that invariably evoke chills, thrills and scares! The half-hour anthology series aimed at kids and teens premieres with the special two-part episode “Grampires” featuring popular actor Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future, “Taxi”).
“Grampires” follows Mike and his sister Cristen as they pay a surprise visit to their grandfather (Lloyd) in his creepy new Sunset Estates retirement community, only to discover that something is not quite right with Grandpa and his nocturnal neighbors, and eventually leading to a showdown at the bingo hall with an entire community of vampires.
