How Does the Flex Belt Work?
The unique construction of the Flex Belt features three pre-positioned, medical-grade Gel Pads, covering the central abdominals and external obliques. The signals from the Flex Belt reach out to nerves where they are most concentrated and these nerves branch out to all of the stomach muscles causing them to contract and relax naturally, working all of the muscles at the same time, not just those directly under the gel pads.
The Flex Belt is also FDA cleared for toning and strengthening and firming abdominal muscles and is medical grade abdominal toning technology suited for men and women! Wow!!

Assembly of the Flex BeltAssembly is too complicated a word for The Flex Belt it was so easy to put together you almost didn’t need the instructions but it’s always best to read them of course! You just put the gel pads on where the pictures show you and as indicated on the belt itself (see my picture below). The Flex Belt comes with a rechargeable power controller that you just plug in to your wall socket and let it charge. It stays charged for a long time I have yet to charge mine again and I’ve been using it for over 2 weeks now 5 days/week! Not sure if that’s typical but the battery life for me has been impressive.
The “Workout”You have 10 training programs to choose from although I’ll admit I couldn’t find in the manual what each program is but once you start to try them out you’ll see or should I say feel the different intervals that each one does. It’s a tingly pulsating sensation is the best way I can describe it. Of course the higher the intensity the more you will feel the pulsing and tingling. I’ve never found it uncomfortable but the higher the intensity the more it feels like your abs are being worked out. It’s almost deceiving how much your abs are being worked out as I did the lower intensities to start as recommended so as to not overdue it.
At first I thought I wasn’t getting a “workout” but let me tell not long after you’re done and definitely by the next morning your abs feel the workout. You know what I mean anyone who has done a decent workout feels that slight or not so slight depending on the intensity of muscle soreness definitely by the next day. I’ve done intense workouts and can’t believe how much the Flex Belt has worked on my muscles yet I could be sitting back and in fact I sat out on a lawn chair several times in the sun wearing the Flex Belt. Nice and relaxing yet I was “working out”. You have to love that I almost feel guilty that it’s so easy.
Good to know facts about the Flex Belt
- It fits waist sizes 24″ to 47″ so almost everyone!
- Easy to adjust velcro strap
- You can wear it under your clothes and probably no one will notice (no one did when I wore it)
- Can use for post-natal exercises 6 weeks after childbirth but always consult your doctor first (3 months if you’ve had a caesarean)
- You shouldn’t assume you’ll lose weight by using the Flex Belt it’s for toning muscles to lose weight you must also follow a healthy eating plan
RecommendationsI found the manual easy to read and as mentioned it was easy to put together. My only recommendation is that me being the detail oriented person I am I would love it if it had a table of what each of the 10 programs entailed. That’s the only thing I could think of and I’m picky so that’s pretty good 🙂
Powered by Mom’s ResultsWell silly me I forgot to take measurements before I started but I just took them recently so I can track it from here.I can honestly say I’m feeling the difference my abs have started to feel a bit more toned there’s lots to work on trust me. I’m going to track it now and I’m going to take a “before” picture as I’m really excited to see the results as I know it’s working on my abs. I will write another post in the coming months to share my results up until that date.
The Flex Belt gets a two thumbs up from Powered by Mom for being the easiest yet best workout my abs have received in years. I’ve been trying various exercise programs throughout the years and I regularly exercise but for the first time in a while I’m optimistic that I will finally lose those last few stubborn inches!
