Easy Snack Ideas For Kids – Surprisingly Healthy

August 11, 2012 by Pam Maynard

There are many ways that you can incorporate healthy options into the snacks your kids are already eating, or you can create new snacks.

Here are some easy snack ideas for kids:

• Homemade frozen fruit juice pops – Take your child’s favorite fruit juice and pour it into a Popsicle mold and freeze for a tasty popsicle. You can use just about any beverage that is sugar free.
• Veggie sticks with dips – Slice them thin and provide a variety of dips. Carrots, cucumber, celery, cherry tomatoes and sugar snap peas are excellent choices.
• Vanilla yogurt dip – You can use your favorite fruit or even graham crackers and dip into the vanilla yogurt. If your child likes another flavor of yogurt you can use that too.
• Fruit kabobs – Fruit on a skewer is fun for kids to create and eat. Strawberries, melon, pineapple and grapes are excellent choices.
• Smoothies – Smoothies are an easy way to create healthy drinks.Just throw some fresh fruit and ice cubes in a blender and you have a tasty, healthy beverage.

• Instead of ice cream, give them sugar free frozen yogurt. They won’t even notice the difference.
• Pizza- try putting a little olive oil on a tortilla. Make your own sauce from tomato sauce, tomato paste, garlic, oregano and onion. Bake tortilla for 6 minutes, spread on sauce and add some mozzarella cheese and bake for another 8 minutes. Kids love pizza and this is a healthy version.

Try these easy snack ideas for kids; I’m sure they will love them.
