Guest Review by Mom Goes Wild
Who doesn’t love preserves? Seriously? Wether it be jam’s, jelly’s
or pickles, everyone has a pallet for preserves. Most recently, I was
asked to review PEI’s very own preserve company called, just
that….Prince Edward Island Preserve Company. If you have ever visited
PEI, Canada, chances are that you’ve had this place on your agenda and
stopped in for a visit. PEI Preserve Company is located on the river on
the Clyde, nestled below the rolling hills of the breath-taking New
Glasgow, Prince Edward Island, Canada.

We’ve always admired the beauty of the PEI Preserve Company driving
by, but have never stopped in. I have no idea why we didn’t! Really,
I’m not sure what we were thinking. We’ve definitely been missing out on
being spoiled by an absolutely amazing local company. On the day I was
to choose my review products, I had taken my daughter Hannah with me.
She loves jam’s and jelly’s. To our surprise and to our delight, they
had samples of just about every sort of jam, jelly and salsa that they
make ready for customers to try. Hannah and I had a field day!

We choose two products to review. Bruce, the owner, had asked us to
review 3-4, but we couldn’t make up our mind! We loved them all! Our
most favourite is the Wild Blueberry with Raspberry & Champaign
spreadable fruit. We just love it! There is no other way to describe it.
If I compared it to my Grammy’s or my Mom’s, I may get in trouble, if
you know what I mean. Within two days, the kids had this delectable
heavenly spreadable fruit, gone. Yep, the bottle is empty.

Hannah was set on the Peach Salsa. I was worried. I didn’t think
she really liked it as much as she said she did, so we took that home to
try as well. I went to get the Peach Salsa from the pantry last weekend
for a treat, and you guessed it……….The kids already tapped into
the bottle and had it half gone! Buggers! My husband and I did get to
enjoy the other half, and we really like the taste of Peach Salsa, it’s
not like anything I’ve ever tasted before.

Prince Edward Island Preserve Company doesn’t only carry preserves.
They have baked goods (that’s next on my list), honey, fruit sauces and
syrops, bbq sauce, vinigar, salsa, spices and so much more! They also
have a restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. My Mom and my
Mother-in-Law had frequented the restaurant last summer a number of
times and they had nothing but great things to say about the food and
service. I am pretty sure the kids and I will be stopping in a few times
this summer for a delicious breakfast!

If you ever get the chance to visit PEI Preserve Company, please do
so. You will not regret it. The landscaping is just breathtaking in the
Garden’s of Hope, which is the adjacent property. I can’t even begin to
describe to you how beautiful this property is. I don’t think there can
ever be a better description then the one you will find on their
website. Pack your suitcase, cause your coming to PEI!

“Established in 2004, the Gardens of Hope is spread over 12 acres of awe-inspiring natural beauty, the likes of which New Glasgow is so
well-known for. With the River Clyde serving as a scenic backdrop, the Gardens have some of nature’s most beautiful elements for visitors to
enjoy and receive solace from. There are more than 400 different plants and flowers in the Gardens, making each month’s blooming something to
look forward to as the colours come to life. In the orchard, apple blossoms and cherry blossoms offer a delicate sense of reflection, and
the sea of blue irises by the riverbank can only be described as relaxing. A section called Eagle’s View is one of several seating areas
in the Garden, and it is not uncommon for visitors to see an eagle or two taking flight. Besides eagles and Canada geese, the Gardens are home
to many more birds. Visiting bird watchers have been known to have been
pleasantly surprised by the wide variety they come across in the Gardens.”

I remember driving by many, many times and seeing Bruce &
Shirley MacNaughtan, the owners – waiting outside, Bruce in his kilt,
and greeting visitors as they arrive.

There is one thing for sure, Bruce and Shirley, and all the staff
at the PEI Preserve Company will certainly get to know me and my kids
over the years. I can’t believe we were that oblivious, and missed out
on 3 years of the PEI Preserve Company.Thank you to the following fellow review Mom’s for helping me promote this awesome review and giveaway:Mom Does Reviews Powered by MomKate’s Quilts & Crochet
