SureFlap Cat Door: Be sure who you are letting in!
The SureFlap Microchip Cat Door learns and recognizes a cat or small dog’s existing veterinarian-inserted microchip and will only allow pets with a recognized chip indoors. This way, strays and other critters are kept outside, giving pet parents peace of mind. SureFlap retails for $149.99 at www.sureflap.com. This SureFlap Cat Door has been big problem solver in our house. We have 3 orange tabby cats of our own and a few neighborhood cats come visit often. It’s scary to come downstairs and not know what has come through the cat door at night. It’s bad enough the cats bring in mice and birds and even squirrels. Sometimes a stray cat will be eating the cat food like he lives there. Of course, when it’s a black cat, I notice right away. We have been lucky, no skunks have come in the cat door.
The installation was easy, my husband put it in with no problem. It was easy to set up and use. I like the magnetic closure on the flap so it doesn’t open in the wind. I like that it doesn’t require a different chip or collar for the cats to wear. It runs on batteries and only powers up when a cat puts his head in the door.
