Bathing Suit Trends for Summer 2012
Guest post by Sarah D.
No more dreading, swimsuit season is just around the corner. And no need to get worked up over that little piece of clothing. This year’s bathing suit trends are sure to bring you to the beach for more fun in the sun. Check out a few trends for this summer:
Vintage Once Piece: We are in luck ladies, this summer the one piece is a top option to hit the water in. The one piece is faltering for all body types and shapes. Channel your inner Marilyn Monroe and go white!
Textured Tops: Ruffles, bows and fringe, oh my! Bikini tops are now sporting a little ruffle, large bow or some pretty fringe in the front. Designers are keeping these bikinis simple with a fun top in solid colors and with a modest bottom. And for those less endowed on the top, these textures will help you look a little fuller this season.
Patterns: Stripes, polka dots, anchors, birds, paisley and animal prints are bountiful. Find a bathing suit that fits your shape and personality!
Crochet cover-ups: Need to cover up? That hippy and beachy crochet look is a must have. They cover what you want covered up but leave enough to show off that cute bathing suit find.
One shoulder: Just like the popular clothing trend the one shoulder is very sexy. We have heard it before; the last place a woman ages is on her shoulders, so why not show it off.
Corals: The color that has been hitting every runway and magazine cover tends to come from the coral family. That orange coral is hot and looks great on any skin tone!
Pair your swimsuit with sleek sandals, a chunky bracelet and large glasses and you are ready for the waves. And don’t forget the best accessory of all, sunscreen!
