Toy cars your son will love for Christmas
Guest post by Rob
It may be years off before your son can drive a vehicle of his own. Right now, the next best thing is to play with the toy equivalent. As this Black Friday sales begin, and as retailers work feverishly to bring their stores over the threshold of profitability, you can pick up some great deals on toy cars your son will love for Christmas. Some of these are classics, while others offer flashing lights and other electronic features.
Die Cast Cars
The Hot Wheels and Matchbox brands are the most widely-known brands of die cast vehicles. They come in a wide variety of makes, models, types, and colors. Some are meant to look like small-scale replicas of real vehicles, while others take on more whimsical themes and paint schemes. These usually cost around a little over dollar each at most discount and toy retailers, so it’s easy to build up a collection. The makers of these cars also offer a series of accessories to give these cars more to do than just cruise the living room floor.
Large Cars
Tonka is perhaps the most notable brand in this category, though there are other makers like Ertl. Though Tonka is known mostly for the toy construction equipment, this brand also offers trucks. Ertl and other similar competitors offer models of trucks, farm equipment, and cars. Some of these toys are made from die cast metal, while others are made of plastic.
Cars with Flashing Lights and Sirens
If your son seeks more realism than just detail when he’s playing with his cars, then you might want to look at the various offerings with electronic enhancements. These enhancements are common for police cars and fire engines. With the push of a button, these sights and sounds of flashing lights and sirens can be replicated in the home. There are also vehicles that feature the revving of race car engines and the sounds of semis.
R/C Cars
As your son grows older, he might not want to push his cars all the time. Remote controlled vehicles fill this void through a variety of offerings. The traditional models are large and easy to locate, whereas some more recent offerings make their diminutive size the selling point. Some models even have flashing lights and sounds.
The decision depends upon your son’s age and maturity. Regardless, always check the toy beforehand for safety recalls, and other safety issues.
