It’s true, we aren’t getting any younger. I remember when I thought my parents were older and now I’m older than they were then! So often, we want to show our older relatives, patients, friends that we care about them but don’t know how. Now that Sam’s Club has Family Caregiving Services, life is much easier for everyone! When I was shopping in Sam’s Club last week, I was inspired by the new Family Caregiving Services. I thought that making a Care Basket would be a great idea for my patients or relatives who can use some extra care.
What is Family Caregiving Services?
Caregiver Services is a one-stop destination for all of your caregiving needs, including prescription refills, personal care products, and free health screenings. Sam’s Club helps their members find the products, expert advice and savings to make their life easier as a caregiver.
Get medical, nutritional, incontinence & personal care products delivered. Or order online & pick up most items with free Club Pickup. Don’t forget that Sam’s Club members have many other services available to them also: Pharmacy, Optical, Travel, Tire Finder, and even Health Insurance! If you need a special lift chair or home safety item, these items ship free, right to your door!
Sam’s Club carries a variety of incontinence products:
- Poise® Liners – Light Absorbency
- Poise® Pads – Maximum Absorbency
- Depend® Fit-Flex® Underwear for Women and Men
Don’t forget to look for the sticker inside your Depend packaging. You can redeem it for a caregiver sample kit. I haven’t had the chance to redeem mine yet, but don’t wait, supplies are limited. Next time I go to Sam’s, I will go to the pharmacy to trade it for the caregiver sample kit.
If you aren’t convinced that you are saving money at Sam’s Club- just look at the new packaging- it shows you how much you save!
Because I work in an Imaging Department at a local hospital, I see many patients in the older generation that need an Extra Care Basket after many exams. This Extra Care Basket is not only great for patients, but next time you visit your relatives, make one and bring it with you. Just that extra thought and love you put into making this care basket will make their day.
How to Make an Extra Care Basket:
First, gather all the items. I bought some hand soap, wet wipes, hand sanitizer, tissue packs, sample sized lotions and soaps and of course the Depend products. I tried to get items for sensitive skin.
Arrange items in a basket. Add as many Depend or Poise products as you thing your loved one or recipient will need.
Add some confetti paper or tissue paper to make it pretty.
If you know who you are making it for, place a card in the basket with a little note to brighten their day. Deliver your basket and make sure you share a smile with them as well! Be sure to mention the Family Caregiver Services at their local Sam’s Club!
My 86 year-old mother-in-law just had lower back fusion surgery. I gave her this basket with Poise pads in it. She actually teared up and gave me the biggest hug ever.
Don’t forget the older generation. Show them you care with an Extra Care Basket.
