Summer is practically here, and I have an amazing easy apple pie recipe to share with you. It was my grandmothers recipe, and I always enjoyed making this with my grandma and mom as a little girl. It’s so simple, you could whip it up for a picnic or the weekend family BBQ. Dollop a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top and its perfect! Here is my recipe, I hope y’all enjoy it!
Ingredients:
- 1 3 lb Bag of McIntosh Apples
- 1 1/3 Cup of Sugar (divided)
- A Dash of Cinnamon
- 2 Tbsp Flour
- 1 Package of Chilled Pie Crust
- 2 Tbsp Milk (for crust)
Directions:
- Pre heat oven to 350 degrees
- Take pie crust from fridge and set on counter until ready to use
- Peel and slice entire bag of apples, I slice them kind of thin, place in bowl
- In the bowl with the apples, add flour, 1 cup of sugar, a dash of cinnamon and toss until blended
- Remove crust from package and place one piece in the pie dish
- Dump in apple mixture
- Cover with the other pie crust
- Pinch ends together around the rim of the dish
- Brush the entire top with milk and sprinkle sugar all over
- Cut 4 small slits on the top for venting
- I use pie crust covers, or aluminum foil on the edges to avoid burning
- Bake for 1 hour
- Enjoy!
