Now that school is back in session, our family is starting up our family game night again. Winning Moves Games is bringing back new versions of classic games that everyone loves to play. We are hoping to keep the fun rolling with these exciting games from Winning Moves Games. Spending time together as a family is important and these games provide an outlet for hours of laughter and friendly competition.
Winning Moves Games
Winning Moves USA (WMUSA) is a leading maker of board games, card games, and puzzles. Since WMUSA’s first year of operation in 1995, the company has forged a close relationship with one of the world’s largest game companies, Hasbro, Inc., owner of Parker Brothers and Milton Bradley. WMUSA also has a great relationship with Seven Towns, Ltd. (the owners of the Rubik’s brand). As a result, many long-lived Parker Brothers and Milton Bradley games & Rubik’s puzzles are now marketed by WMUSA!
WMUSA proudly markets best-selling titles like Pass The Pigs®, Rubik’s® Cube, Pretty, Pretty, Princess®, Rack-O®, No Stress Chess®, and hot new sellers like Kozo®, and Stink Bug™.
Some of our favorite new games we are adding to our family game night include:
Scrabble® To Go™
This compact version of the classic game makes it fun to use anywhere whether we are at home or on the go. It comes in a zip-up case to protect and store the pieces. When playing, each of the tiles snap into place so that you do not have to worry about them moving around.
Need to stop the game and pick it up later? Simply fold over the board and tuck in your extra tiles before zipping up the case. The tiles already played will still be in their places when you have time to pick up the game again. I think this is great because we like to play while waiting for our food at restaurants too. It doesn’t take a minute to tuck everything inside the case and clear the table. I do recommend having a family dictionary when you’re playing this game I have found that some of my crew come up with some creative words when they’re running out of tiles.
Rubik’s® Edge
Everyone remembers the Rubik’s cube that has been around for a long time entertaining and frustrating those that have taken on the challenge. This version is a little different because it is a lot smaller with a standard 3x3x3 tile format. The pieces twist and turn in different directions. It is a real challenge for anyone that wants to play with it. You will definitely be hooked!
Once you get the pieces and shape all twisted around, see how long it takes for you to get it back into the flat position so that each side has only one color. It is more challenging that you think.
Bouncing Bingo™
Can you bounce the ball into the Bingo platform and have it land in the place that you need it? In this game players bounce a ball on the table and then have it land in the spot they need on the game board.
The challenge in this game is learning how to apply just the right pressure and twist when you bounce the ball. It’s also one of those games that that little ones probably have an advantage because the older ones tend to over think it a little bit. Depending on where your ball lands, a chip is placed on your Bingo card. The first player to get four chips in a row wins.
Flinch®
Talk about a blast from the past, Flinch® was first introduced in 1905! This classic card game is fast paced and very competitive. As you flip your cards over you have to put them in order as fast as you can before someone else takes the spot that you need to place your card.
Younger players may have a little difficulty with this game not because of not understanding the rules but if they are playing with someone older their reflexes are going to be a lot faster. But we get around this by pairing up older crew members with younger ones and that way everyone can participate. Or you could just take out some of the cards so that the little ones have fewer cards to hold and put in place.
Scattergories® 30th Anniversary Edition
This game is celebrating its 30th year! That is a long time for a game to remain so popular. In this three round game, you earn points when no one else matches your answer to the question. Starting with a list, the dice is rolled and the letter that shows is the letter that all your answers have to start with on your answer sheet. Oh my; this game sure makes you think fast knowing the timer is clicking away.
All of these games are challenging for all ages and I really appreciate that the rules can be modified to include everyone in the family. So, as you find yourself inside a little more often, keep the fun rolling with these exciting games from Winning Moves Games.
