Feel Better Faster with Amwell!
As a busy wife, mom, blogger, MRI tech and Doggy Day Care owner, I don’t have time to be sick or to visit a doctor. I have been having these sinus headaches for a few weeks and was excited to learn about Amwell. Once I get home from work, I really hate going out again- I must be getting old. 🙂 I was able to see a doctor from the comfort of my home AND he was able to give me medication to take care of my sinuses!
What is Amwell?
Amwell® connects you to board-certified doctors 24 hours a day using your phone, tablet or computer. It’s like visiting an urgent care center without leaving your house!
How does it work?
The first thing you need to do is create an account. This step takes the longest. Once you make a login, you won’t have to enter the information again. Choose the doctor that works best for you. You will see list of available doctors, their experience and ratings before starting your visit. The web based and mobile app visits use secure, high-quality streaming video. You can see and speak with a doctor 24 hours a day from home or on the go. I tried to use my PC the first time and had some trouble with the video sound. When I used my iPhone, it was much easier and quicker! Plus I was able to do it in the family room while waiting for my son to come home from school.
What should I expect?
What to expect during your visits: Most doctor visits take about 10 minutes, but you can always add time if you need to. I talked to Dr. Mark for about 5 minutes. He was very helpful and concerned. I actually felt like I had his undivided attention, unlike at some doctor’s offices where they are constantly interrupted. Doctors on Amwell® can review your history, answer questions, diagnose, treat and even prescribe medication. Prescriptions will be sent to your pharmacy of choice.
Would I use it again?
YES! It was so easy and quick. Having a sinus headache for a few weeks, I was ready to get some relief. I had to wait for a doctor to be available, but that only took a few minutes. I also loved that he sent in a prescription for an antibiotic to help clear up my sinus headaches. It usually takes your Primary Care days to get you in and at least 48 hours to get medication.
Confidentiality is a big deal for me and this felt completely confidential. I could add as much info as I wanted to my history. I could even update a file with my complete medical record if I wanted to.
Try it for yourself and save $15!
If you need to see a doctor from your home or on-the-go, be sure to visit Amwell to try them out. Does your little one have an earache, does hubby have back pain? Amwell can help.
