My Thoughts:
I still consider myself a newbie when it comes to all the uses for essential oils. My first experience with them was at a ladies conference where I got the headache of all headaches. This was also the time I learned about the need to use a carrier oil because I got burned from rubbing peppermint oil along my temples. Now, my headache was gone so I was a happy camper again…but..the oil was too strong for my skin with out it being diluted in a carrier oil. Lesson learned! Of course, some oils don’t need to be diluted and some people wouldn’t react as I did when applied directly to the skin.
Since then, I have learned so much about using essential oils but every time I turn around – I discover another amazing use for them!
This month we have been blessed with the February Essential Oils Recipe Box from Simply Earth. Hello?!? Where was this amazing subscription box several years ago. The box comes with the essential oils, your carrier oil, all the application and storage bottles needed to create the blends for the month. The directions are so easy to follow and since the oils last for years, I don’t worry about making up several batches of the blends we like to use around the house so they are ready when needed.
Lavender has taken over my house this month! I am in love with the scent! I also read how many ways it can be used from comfort to insect repellent and with the flu still running rampant and the Spring thaw happening in my area.. Lavender is my go to oil.
Along with the essential oils, we received a diffuser that is spreading my second favorite oil, Lemon Mytrle, in my office.
Oh, it smells so good and the calming factors are really appreciated on those long days.
I have to say that the use and care of this diffuser is nice. It opens easily so you can clean it as needed as well as be able to fill it right at the sink. This might not be a big deal to some, but I usually make a mess trying to pour water and oils into a little opening on most units. I for one, appreciate this feature.
Oh, I almost forgot about my newest secret weapon.. Peace and Quiet! Did you know they actually bottle this stuff? Woohoo! Seriously though, I find myself just reaching for the bottle to take a couple of deep breaths when my world gets crowded.
Have you tried essential oils or maybe you are looking for a gift for someone special? Visit Simply Earth and check out their gift packages and collections. It is a great way to gift a variety pack to someone or to try for yourself. My suggestion would be the gift set of the most popular blends.
