Once in a while, I come across fun games that don’t require batteries or internet of any kind. Goliath Games is the producer of many of these games. Games such as Zoom Ball, Phlat Ball, and the Rocket Fishing Rod can all be played with outside, without the need for electricity and can be enjoyed by all ages.
Phlat Ball is my favorite product from this set of games just because it takes a childhood favorite, frisbee, and makes it into a fun and exciting new game. This toy transforms from a 9” flying disc to a 6″ ball while in mid-flight. It’s so much fun because you have no idea when it’s going to transform. It can pop-up while flying or while in your hand. My kids have played and played with this fun toy. And, granted, they are a little older (13 and 16), but they seriously get competitive. They even get the dog in the action. Another fun feature is that because it lays flat, you can tuck it into a bag, backpack or a suitcase for easy traveling.
Another fun game is Zoom Ball and Zoom Ball Hydro. These two games require two players and it gets fast and competitive really fast. Each player has a handle and when the ball gets to you, you rip the handles apart, sending the ball to the other player. When you play the hydro version, the water balloon that tucks inside the ball can pop at anytime, sending water all over the closest player. This game, for my teenagers, is so much fun. They challenge their friends and each other, teasing and laughing the whole time.
The final product from Goliath is The Rocket Fishing Rod. I’ve seen this one on television and didn’t understand the appeal until I held it in my hand. My little nephew is the fisherman in the family and I can’t wait to give it to him. This fishing rod is all about safety and fun. The rod itself looks like a gun, but when the trigger is pulled, it casts a line into a lake, river or pond. The bobber hides the hook for safety. This rod is great for kids of all ages and includes the rod, safety bobber, 2 hooks, 150 feet of 8 pound fishing line, 2 line stops, and a weight.
