This year has been our first-year homeschooling. Math has been an area in which we have been wanting to spend more time on. I don’t like standing over my son’s shoulder the whole time he is learning. He likes to be independent with his work as well. My son and I had a chance to review Smartick and I wanted to share our experience with you all.
Setting up the account
Signing up on Smartick was super easy. I just entered my email and password. I then set up a password and username for my son, Benjamin. It was very simple to do. When he is older, I will let him sign in, but for now, I do it. He’s only 7.
Doing the Work
My son seemed very motivated to do his math work on Smartick. We are still in the stage where he is getting assessed. Once we move on past the assessment stage, he will then be able to work freely based on his skill level. I like the idea of this because it will be nice to know where he is at academically. I also like that I don’t have to come up with math lessons, every day. He really loved the “ticks” and the challenge of getting all of them right!
About Smartick
Students work on mental calculation and algebra while also developing problem-solving and critical thinking skills, improving in both math and reading comprehension. Your child progresses at their own pace, building self-confidence, avoiding frustration, and developing a positive attitude to math. Short, daily sessions at maximum concentration. No commuting or schedules. Access Smartick from your PC or tablet. Anytime, anywhere. Smartick does not follow the official curriculum or State standards. Smartick prepares your child to advance faster than in school.
We’ve added Smartick to our Christmas Gift Guide 2016!
