Serve Birds Eye Vegetables At Your Next Holiday Social Gathering
It’s almost Thanksgiving and I can taste the turkey, can’t you? What goes great with turkey? Vegetable Casseroles of course! Birds Eye is helping families include the yummy goodness of vegetables this holiday season.
We have always preferred Birds Eye frozen vegetables. I can trust that they are good quality and not the left over stems and scraps! Frozen veggies provide as much nutrition as fresh, and if you forget about them, they won’t spoil! With a busy schedule, I am famous for forgetting about fresh veggies in the produce drawer. I end up throwing out more than I’d care to admit!
Create Memories and Traditions
Birds Eye makes holiday cooking easy enough for the kids to join in the meal prep and provides recipes so good you’ll want to make them together every year! My girls love to help me in the kitchen. From prep to bake they are always close by my side.

I want to share with you my favorite holiday casserole recipe using Birds Eye frozen vegetables. It’s so simple and sooo good! You can use a 9×13 casserole dish for this one, however it’s easy to adapt to half of that size or even larger.
You’ll need
- 1 bag Frozen Birds Eye Broccoli florets (use approx half the 3lb bag or a little more)
- 1 stick of butter
- Original Velvetta Cheese (3/4 of the 2lb block)
- Ritz Crackers crumbled or throw them in the food processor to make them fine (2-3 sleeves)
Tip: My aunt Jane prefers to allow her Birds Eye Broccoli florets to thaw and then squeezes the water out of them before placing in the dish.
Combine Ingredients
In your 9×13 baking dish you’ll add the broccoli.
Cut one stick of butter into pats and arrange evenly on top of the broccoli florets.
Next, slice the Velveeta cheese into small pieces and do like wise. If you like your casserole extra cheesy, use the entire 2lb block.
Lastly, sprinkle your cracker crumbs on top to make a delicious crunchy topping.
Bake at 350 for 45 minutes on the LOWER rack. The broccoli and cheese will melt in your mouth! Remember, you have crushed crackers on top and they can become flammable if placed near the top of the oven. Trust me, I know all about this; another story for a different day y’all. 😉
