Happy Thanksgiving!
Before we finalize our Thanksgiving menus, Mom Does Reviews wanted to know if your meal is going to be the most memorable yet? Will you try anything different? Are you inviting a new guest? What are you going to do to make this year the most memorable Thanksgiving your family has ever had?
When I think back upon my childhood Thanksgiving was my absolute favorite day. We always had a large family dinner with as many relatives as possible, we ate a combination of old favorites and new side dishes, and we could rely upon my Aunt to buy the most disgusting store-bought pumpkin pie ever (that no amount of whipped cream would fix!) Although much of the dinner was the ‘ol standard, thirty ‘something years later I can still remember my first bite of green bean casserole, and the first time my grandmother taught me to make the sweet potatoes. It is firsts like these that inspired me to encourage you to create your new first this year. Whether you start a new tradition, or try a new side dish, do something this year to make your Thanksgiving the most memorable dinner you’ve ever had!

Some would argue that the salad is an unnecessary part of Thanksgiving dinner because it takes up too much room in the tummy! I disagree, the salad is one of my favorite parts of any meal! Just looking at this salad from Hello Little Home makes me smile! Don’t you want to make your guests smile right from the start too? Yum! Yum!

Every great Thanksgiving dinner needs a few crockpot side dishes to make life a little easier! Raising Wasians is always a great blog to visit for delicious recipes, but for Thanksgiving I have my eye on her crockpot corn casserole. It looks so easy that I think I could even pass this job off to one of my kids to complete!
Remember, less work for you equals a happy hostess!

I’m going to let you in on a little secret, not everyone enjoys green bean casserole!
I know. Shocking discovery.
This year, let’s try to please the guests who find green bean casserole less than satisfying with a pecan glazed green bean side dish. Don’t cover up the fresh green bean flavor with heavy sauce, jump over to Intelligent Domestications to see why simple can mean surprising flavor!

Don’t buy bread this year. Make it your goal to avoid buying bread, or dough, for your Thanksgiving bread basket! For years homemade bread was my nemesis. I couldn’t do it no matter what I did! But then one day I mastered it and my kids couldn’t get enough! If you’re like me and bread baking isn’t your thing, try these easy buttery yeast rolls from Wholefully. She will walk you through everything you need to know about these rolls AND provide you with a few tips on how not to mess them up too!
