Are you ready for this holiday seasons FUNNIEST comedy? ALMOST CHRISTMAS starringDanny Glover, Mo’Nique, Gabrielle Union, Omar Epps, Romany Malco, Nicole Ari Parker, JB Smoove, Keri Hilson and DC Young Fly is in theaters this Friday, November 11th.
My girls and I had a chance to have a girls night out this week and attend an advanced screening of ALMOST CHRISTMAS. As we headed to the AMC theater, we doned our ALMOST CHRISTMAS gear in eager anticipation of the show.
We have seen previews for this movie the past several weeks and were eager to see it before it hits theaters nationwide. As we settled into our comfortable movie seats at AMC Newport 20, the theater was packed – every seat was filled. Little did we know we were in for 2 hours of pure, hysterical delight.
The movie opens with a delightful glimpse of the Meyers family at a young age and travels quickly through time as their family grows by leaps and bounds. As we see Walter (Danny Glover) enjoying his family at Christmas time and enjoying a piece of his wife’s delicious sweet potato pie, it appears to be the perfect holiday for them.
We quickly move forward to 2016 and things have changed. The Meyer family is divided now more than ever and the movie takes many twists and turns as they try to bring it all together, at the request of their father, for Christmas.
Full of comedic anticdotes and one-liners, the movie theater was in a constant state of laughter and joy the entire time. Aunt May (Mo’Nique) really made the movie for me. I don’t want to take away from the movie, other than to say you must see it yourself to appreciate how funny and awesome it is.
Seeing this movie will not dissappoint! This movie was so delightful, we are going again this weekend to see it again. Not only will it keep you in stitches with laughter, but you will also find yourself singing along to one of the best movie soundtracks I have heard in a long time…something for every generation!
