I can remember growing up, Peach Cobbler was a favorite dessert at our house and it still is today. After all, who doesn’t love juicy peaches?! And, while I prefer to use fresh peaches from the peach orchard or farmer’s market, it is perfectly acceptable to get them from the grocery store. This easy Peach Cobber is a recipe that is perfect for anytime family meals and for holiday desserts. Give it a try and then surprise your family this holiday season!
Don’t be afraid of the list of ingredients! They are mostly common ingredients that you probably have stashed in your pantry – except for the peaches, of course 🙂 And, the steps are super easy to follow. Peach Cobbler truly is a super easy and delicious dessert to make.

Peach Cobbler Dessert
Ingredients:
6 large fresh peaches (or 7-8 small medium); peel, pit and slice into thin to medium wedges
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup white sugar
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 tsp. fresh lemon juice (bottled lemon juice is acceptable if you don’t have a fresh lemon)
2 tsp. cornstarch
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup white sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
6 Tbls. unsalted butter, cut into small pieces (keep chilled until ready to use)
1/4 cup boiling water
Final Topping:
3 Tbls. white sugar
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Peel, pit and slice peaches into thin to medium wedges.
Using a large mixing bowl – combine the peaches, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup white sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Stir and toss to evenly coat all the peaches.
Pour into a 2 quart baking dish.
Bake the coated peaches in preheated oven for 10 minutes.
Using another large bowl, combine flour, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup white sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Slice butter into small sections and add to mixture.
Use a pastry blender to cut into the sugar/flour mixture until it resembles coarse meal. If you don’t have a pastry blender, just use your fingertips to blend in.
Stir in water until the mixture is barely combined.
Remove the peaches from the oven and drop spoonfuls of flour-sugar mixture over them.
Sprinkle the final topping mixture of sugar and cinnamon over the entire cobbler.
Bake 25-30 minutes or until topping is golden brown. Watch carefully in the final few minutes.
