Do you park day with your kids? With six kids, working from home, homeschooling, being a single car family (and life in general), park day is just as much of an event as a full-day trip! Sure, we’d love to attend each week, but it just doesn’t work out that way. When we finally make it, we get the look of amazement from our friends and I always have to wonder if it is because we actually made it or because I showed up looking like I’m ready for a day at a theme park!
It’s true, I bring way too much to park day. But since we don’t go very often I always want to be sure we are prepared. I have our basic necessities for leaving the house: diaper bag and change of clothing for anyone under five. And then I have our park day needs! Are you ready to find out what they are?…
5 Things to Bring Along on Park Day!
I. The first thing I bring with me at park day is the stroller. Most of the parks in my area are large and I find that my kids can scatter about. If I plan the day right, my two year old will actually fall asleep in the stroller while I’m tracking down the rest of our group. This means I have one less wee one to fearfully watch while I try to visit with my mommy friends.
II. Drinks! I always keep water bottles or juice boxes available for anyone while we are at park day. We always bring enough to share because there is always a family (or two) who raced out the door forgetting their own stash. (Tip: Leave an extra pack in your car so your children can hydrate on the way home.)
III. A small snack. Don’t feel like you have to bring candies and cakes, fruit is always a big hit with the kids. Grab a few bunches of bananas, or whatever is on sale that week. Regardless of what you show up with, the kids will be pleased.
IV. Sports equipment. We have a few balls and fold up toys that don’t take up much room in our SUV that we keep handy for use. This is really important if you have children of different ages attending park day.
V. WaterWipes! Wipes are a MUST to bring to the park because dirt and stickies are everywhere! Keep a pack handy on top of your stroller so your kids always know where to find them. AND if you have extra, toss a pack or two near the snack table to share. Your mom friends will be very happy you were so thoughtful.
Speaking of Thoughtful…
We didn’t forget the wipes this week!!!
Thank you to WaterWipes for allowing me the opportunity to giveaway samples of WaterWipes to my mommy friends! Inside my WaterWipes goody bags each family received two sixty-count packs of wipes and three travel packs!
Meet my friend Mindy, mom of nine and master of awesomeness!
She graciously allowed me to photograph her with her WaterWipes goodies!
I loved being able to offer a safer baby wipe to my friends and they were impressed that WaterWipes is made with 99.9% pure Irish water and 0.1% grapefruit seed extract. I was also able to share with them that our local Target carries WaterWipes in the store so they are able to grab more whenever their samples run out.
