Get Focused!
I am blessed to be able to homeschool my three children. The time we get to spend together is great, except for the part where I have to nag them to get back to work. I have to constantly keep two of the three on task. Daydreams and distractions claim their attention much of the time. If I just had something to help keep them on task without me hovering or nagging, our days would be even better. Thankfully Fokus Labs created the Re-Vibe, and it is a great tool to help my children, and others with similar difficulties.
About FokusLabs
FokusLabs was founded by Rich Brancaccio, in 2013, to create specialized tools to help kids overcome their difficulties. This school psychologist has over ten years working in various schools and home educational/therapeutic settings. Much of his successful career was spent specializing in autism spectrum disorders. Rich is passionate about helping children acheive success, and he personally evaluated hundreds of children with varied developmental needs. His company was formed to share information and create technology to help children and their families have the support they need.
At FokusLabs, we believe that help should never be priced out of reach. We also put people before profit. This is why we are dedicated to sourcing items that are safe for kids and adults to wear everyday and creating them right here in the US.
About Re-Vibe
The Re-Vibe was designed to meet the needs of all different students in a school setting, including those with ADHD and autism. It is pre-programmed, with four settings; mildly off task, moderately off task, severely off task, and homework mode. It uses a Patent-Pending algorithm to randomize vibrations at certain times. This keeps the user from getting used to the vibrations because they feel different and there is no set pattern.
The Re-Vibe is:
- One-touch programming, which is quick and easy to use
- Distraction free design, with no buttons, screens, or sound effects
- Three different research-based reminder levels to meet all needs + Homework Mode (see FAQs to learn more).
- 7+ day battery life after a single charge
- Three different research-based reminder levels for all needs
- Homework Mode to allow independence
- Built in the USA
- Food-grade plastic is rugged and free of BPA/BPS, Lead, and Phthalates
- No on/off button, motion sensor turns it on when it is worn.
- Hidden LED light shines when battery is low, and for homework break time.
- It is less than 1/2 oz, so ultra light weight.
- Comes with USB charger, power cord, and programming tool
- 30 day return policy
I was thrilled to hear about this product. Any thing that can help my children stay on task on their own is music to my ears. This bracelet is so easy to use my son was able to cycle through the pre-set levels by himself. We started on level one which is advised, so the child can get used to having something vibrate on their wrist. After a few days, you can bump up to higher levels as needed. We quickly jumped to the highest level because I was still speaking to my son often. On the lowest setting the vibrations were about 10-12 minutes apart. He was off daydreaming much sooner than that.
Severely off task is where he keeps it. When it vibrates he has to pause and decide if he is doing what he is supposed to be doing. If so he keeps going, if not he is able to re-direct his attention back to the proper place. He said he liked that it helped him to stay on task more. I did notice that I only had to re-direct him about half as much. That may not sound like much, but with him it is a big difference.
My daughter also used it. The velcro band is adjustable and you can chose between two size bands when you order. She really liked it, and was on task the most of time even with level one. She only needs re-direction from me a few times a day, so when she uses it, she is able to stay on top of her distractions all by herself. With both my children it was an over-whelming success. This will be a tool we use every day at homeschool.
Before I got my Re-Vibe, the founder himself called me to tell me about the product. He was willing to give up his time to ensure I understood how it worked and how it would benefit my children. He was very dedicated to the welfare of the children who will use the Re-Vibe. In fact they are even willing to re-program a customer’s Re-Vibe if a less intense or more intense setting is needed. Now that is beyond customer service in my opinion.
