I am sharing this post as part of a collaboration with Bloggin’ Mamas and The Hometown All Stars. I received books and other items in exchange for my participation. All opinions expressed are my own.
My son has enjoyed sports since he was in kindergarten. Just being outside with his friends was his favorite part. Being an only child, soccer and baseball practices were the highlight of his week! We love that his coaches always supported the kids, no matter what their athletic ability. Sports are meant to be fun and exciting, not just about being the best and winning every game!
Check out these fun books and the amazing prize pack you can win- it even includes a $50 Barnes and Nobles GC!
The Hometown All Stars is a book series for children that focuses on teaching early sports skills along with interactive, educational activities, and more importantly – fun! Kids ages 3-7 years old and parents, teachers, librarians, and others who want to promote “Less Screen, More Green” and get kids outside and active again! The Hometown All Stars series is also for parents who don’t know much about baseball and want to be ahead of the curve when their kids begin to play, for sports enthusiasts looking for a book that doesn’t involve talking animals to read at bedtime to their children, and for anyone interested in promoting the love of baseball and sports overall to a new generation. HOMETOWN ALL STARS AT A GLANCE
Nick’s Very First Day of Baseball
Nick’s Very First Day of Baseball teaches children about baseball using real coaching techniques. In this interactive storybook, kids will find hidden baseballs in the pictures, answer trivia questions, and there’s even a page for autographs from their favorite players. Fun, interactive and educational.
Even if you already know how to play baseball, this book is fun for kids up to age 8. Not only does it review things in the game of baseball, but it reminds everyone that sports are meant to be fun. Practices are fun even if the only reason you are there is to be with your friends.
If your little one wants to play baseball for the first time this season, this is the perfect book to introduce them to the game!
Magic Bat Day
Magic Bat Day is the first real practice after the Hometown All Stars get their uniforms. Batting is the most fun of all skills and drills! This book concept shows techniques of how to hold the bat and where to stand. Most importantly, it shows that every kid can find their own ‘magic’ bat and the magic within themselves to hit the ball!
This book even taught me a few tricks on how to hit a ball. I never thought about adding a black dot on the ball, or painting circles on the grass for your feet. I bet my son would have stuck with baseball if he had been taught these tricks. I love how positive the whole experience is. Kids don’t have to be the best, they just need to have fun. When they find their “magic bat” it’s even more exciting!
Don’t forget about Yogi- Nick’s dog’s name is Yogi- how cute!
