Are YOU Ready to Protect YOUR Pets from Disaster?
August 23rd marked the 10 year anniversary of the most devastating hurricane to his the United States, Hurricane Katrina. Hurricane Katrina killed nearly 2,000 people, left 600,000 pets deceased or homeless. Almost half (44%) of the people who refused to evacuate during Hurricane Katrina said they did so because they felt they could not bring their animals with them. Despite this tragedy, recent poll shows that 35% of pet owners still don’t have plans in place for the next big storm.
Are you ready for the unexpected? While you can never be completely ready, you can take steps to prepare for a natural disaster for you and your pets. I am encouraging pet owners to pledge to prepare for their pets in the event of a natural disaster. This informative infographic (below the RC) gives you simple steps that can save lives in the event of an emergency.September is also National Preparedness Month and is the perfect time to prepare for a natural disaster for you and your pets.
