When I first ran across this super easy recipe on Pinterest I thought it was too good to be true. A low fat recipe that is not only tasty but so easy to make that even my toddler could help out? Yes, indeed! With no fat and practically no effort involved you and your children can have a tasty dessert in the time it takes to pour, mix and bake. Here is the recipe for Easy Pineapple Angel Food Cake:
Ingredients:
- One Box Angel Food Cake Mix
- One Can (20 oz) of Crushed Pineapple or Pineapple Tidbits
Directions:
Pour the box of angel food cake mix into a large mixing bowl. Add the entire can of pineapple, undrained. Mix until smooth. Pour into a lightly greased 9×13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for around 20 minutes or until top is golden brown.
That is it! Isn’t it super simple? You do not even have to get out the beaters or anything! You can also use a lightly greased Bundt pan if you would prefer. Just make sure that the cake cooks all the way through (around 30 minutes). Two round cake pans also work, although they take around 15 minutes to bake.
My kids like to garnish the cake with whipped topping and fresh sliced strawberries, but that is all up to you. This light and easy to make dessert is a huge hit with the whole family and none is ever left over. You can fancy it up for parties or keep it simple and plain for a home cooked dessert no one will believe your kids helped you make!
